Sandblasting & Surface Preparation

Car Chassis Sandblasting In Our Blast Room

Every great finish starts with the right preparation. Our in house sandblasting and surface preparation services ensure your metal parts and components are etched and free of contaminants. A proper sandblast is imperative for outdoor durability, without a thorough part prep, you risk premature coating failure. Media blasting provides:

  • – Thorough cleaning of metal surfaces to remove rust, old paint, and impurities
  • – Uniformity for perfect adhesion and a flawless finish
  • – High-quality blasting media suited to your material and needs
  • – Preparation for powder coating or other finishes that ensures optimal durability

We’re capable of media blasting items up to 20’ long in our state of the art blast room, or using one of our several blast cabinets for the smaller delicate items. Whether you’re getting ready for powder coating or just need precise sandblasting, we deliver results that help your project last the test of time.

What is Sandblasting?

Blasting is the fastest way to prep the metal surface for a coating. A sand like abrasive (called the media) is pressurized and propelled out a blast nozzle at speeds in excess of 600 mph. The abrasive media impacting the surface at that speed and pressure obliterates any coating or corrosion on the metal. But this isn’t your harbor freight blaster, this is an industrial grade pressure blaster that consumes huge amounts of compressed air. There are many names for this industrial process such as grit blasting, media blasting, shot blast, dustless blast, bead blaster, and many more. Rest assured they all mean the same thing.

There are hundreds of medias available that can be used in the blasting industry. The most common blast medias used in todays industrial operations include aluminum oxide, steel grit or shot, garnet, glass bead, and coal slag. Adrenaline Customs uses aluminum oxide for its hardness and cutting power, and glass bead for the delicate items.

Blasting can be dangerous work, and the PPE needed for this process is very important. We supply our operators with a sandblasting hood, helmet, and suit with a supplied air respirator to the operator. This protects the operator and allows them to retain visibility in this harsh environment.
